Open Doors to the World
A Gathering of the American Refugee Committee

Thursday, December 3rd
Doors open at 3:00 p.m.
Followed by a reception from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Come in from the cold and join us for a very special open house at the American Refugee Committee home office. Bring a friend. Bring the whole family. Everyone is welcome!

What's in store

Exhibit
Take a moment to reflect on the daily realities a refugee faces as you walk through this poignant collection of photos and images.

Community Forum
Minnesota is home to thousands of refugees. Three people will share their personal experiences with us. The topic of discussion:  “HOME” – What is the real meaning of home to those who’ve lost it? What does it mean to us as moms, dads, sisters, brothers, friends and neighbors?
(3:30 and 5:30)

Relief in the 21st Century
Join President Daniel Wordsworth for a small group discussion about the necessity for a fresh approach to humanitarian work. There’s plenty of time to ask questions about our work and how you can be involved.
(3:30 and 5:30)

Activity Area
Bring the whole family! There will be an activity area just for kids. They can dance and listen to African music and storytelling... take pictures and make cards to send to kids living in refugee camps... and so much more!

Film Screenings
We will show three moving documentaries about the refugee experience. Conversations will follow each.

**Stay for the Reception!**
End the evening with great food and conversation while we honor the volunteers who help make our work possible. Reception runs from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
