One year ago, a massive earthquake devastated Haiti.
250,000 people were killed and more than 1.5 million were left instantly homeless.

ARC supporters responded. Supporters made it possible for us to have a relief team on the ground within 48 hours of the quake…made it possible to get lifesaving medical care, medicine, and supplies to survivors… and allowed us to continue assisting Haitians over the last 12 months.

We’ve committed to helping the people of Haiti recover. In the past year, we’ve helped more than 83,000 people receive the daily essentials they need, ensuring families have clean water, shelter, health care and more.

We've helped thousands of people protect themselves and their loved ones from the current cholera outbreak in Haiti - managing a cholera treatment unit, educating the community about the risks, providing clean water and putting in place extra sanitation precautions.

Our goal for 2011 is to help Haitians begin living life again, not just surviving day-to-day. That includes moving people out of tents and unsafe structures and into 2,000 family shelters we’re constructing.

We have a vision for the future of communities not only where families' needs are met but were they can enjoy life once again. Streets reduced to rubble will become neighborhoods where children can play and attend school. Where families can lay down roots and live for generations to come.

With the help of our supporters, we know we can help survivors rebuild vibrant communities where they will thrive.
