Corporations are donating critical relief supplies to support the people of Haiti. The American Refugee Committee is collecting and coordinating the distribution of goods from companies such as The Mosaic Company, Mortenson Construction, Allina, and Dart Transit. Donated items include tents, FEMA-grade tarps and plastic sheeting, roping, medical supplies, surgical supplies, respirator masks, SAT phones, and solar lighting.
“We’re pleased to partner with the corporate community to help the people of Haiti who are struggling to survive," said Daniel Wordsworth, President and CEO of the American Refugee Committee. “Their caring and compassion will save lives.”
The items will be transported by truck to Miami, then by cargo plane to Port-au-Prince. They are scheduled to arrive in Haiti next week.
Other corporate partners and groups involved in the American Refugee Committee’s relief efforts include Baker Tilly, Best Buy Corporation, Iridium, Liberty Diversified, Malt-O-Meal, Medtronic Foundation, Nechama, Park Nicollet Hospitals, SatComm Group, Scherer Brothers Lumber, SOL Lighting, Skylink Aviation, Stat Technologies, Target Foundation, and United Health Systems.
